Mission Statement

The National Association of Pastoral Musicians fosters the art of musical liturgy. The members of NPM serve the Catholic Church in the United States as musicians, clergy, liturgists, and other leaders of prayer.

Strategic Priorities

  1. Finances: Maintain and embody a financially stable status that represents the organization well. Use this stability to further the work of the Church and NPM’s members.
  2. Leadership: Continue to value well-established bodies of leadership that serve the organization to the best of its ability. These leaders will be “actively engaged in the mission and the work of the Association and share a vision for the future”.
  3. Membership: “All members experience professional and personal growth as a result of their membership.” Members continue to benefit from local chapter events, national events as well as our website (eg. Our Members-Only Portal). One membership provides many ways to develop the skills needed for pastoral ministry.
  4. Planning: NPM strives to offer educational experiences and opportunities for learning for all members. Both paid and volunteer members of the Board of Directors and leadership work to create short- and long-term goals. Planning for the organization, including these opportunities of learning, focuses on promoting excellence in liturgical music in the Catholic Church.
