This optional experience is available before the start of our 2-day event and has limited spots available.

Keynote: Hope on the Road in the Journey of Faith (Presented by Diana Macalintal)

Before they are ministers, liturgical musicians are, first, believers. In the journey of faith, they are called by their baptism to experience conversion, hear the Gospel, and proclaim God’s praise by their lives. This two-part keynote will give liturgical ministers a mystagogical itinerary for strengthening their faith in Christ through the liturgy and a roadmap for finding joy and reawakening hope for the treasures of heaven already present along the way.

Diana Macalintal is the cofounder and codirector of Team Initiation and of Liturgy.life and is a widely-recognized leader in the areas of the catechumenate and Catholic liturgy and music. With a Master of Arts in Theology from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, she served in campus, parish, and diocesan ministries for over 30 years. She is an author, speaker, and published liturgical composer. On Holy Thursday 2024, she and her husband, Nick Wagner, moved to Oakland, California, to be closer to their parish of St. Columba, one of the country’s premier Black Catholic communities, where the parishioners teach them every day what hope in Christ looks like.
