About the Presenter
Steve McBride holds a Master of Music, Sacred Music Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College (Rider University) and Bachelor of Music, Music Education, from West Chester University, with a concentration in Voice, Organ, and Conducting. Since the age of 14, Steve has been serving churches as organist and choir director. A cradle Episcopalian, Steve has held positions at several Episcopal parishes including The Church of the Holy Trinity, West Chester, PA and St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church, North East, MD, and The Church of the Good Shepherd, Burke, VA.
Mr. McBride is very active as an educator, conductor, and accompanist. Steve is a collaborative pianist for several schools in the Fairfax County Public School division as well as Music Director In-Residence at The Theatre Lab School for the Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC. For several years, he was the Choral Director at Langston Hughes Middle School (FCPS) in Reston, Virginia, where he grew the choral program from 49 students to almost 200 students in just three years. Before returning to teaching, he was Director of Music Ministries at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Burke, VA, where he directed a multi-level graded choral program, managed a concert series, and was the producing director for the Good Shepherd Players Musical Theatre ministry. In 2010 he formed the Valley Forge Chorale, an auditioned concert choir based in King of Prussia, PA. Under his direction the chorale grew to over 85 singers, with a full artistic and production staff.
Steve has been Music Director / Conductor of several musical theatre productions including “Into the Woods”, “Les Miserables”, “The Pajama Game”, “Camelot”, “South Pacific”, “Grease”, “My Fair Lady”, and “The Sound of Music.” Most recently, he was the Music Director for “The Prom” at Reston Community Players. Steve has directed summer theatre workshops, master classes, and camps, including several years’ residence as associate music director for OPERADelaware’s summer artist program.
Steve joined the sales team of R. A. Daffer Church Organs, Inc. in 2007 where he worked as a sales manager and marketing specialist. During his time in the church organ industry, he was also national representative for Rodgers Instruments, Global Organ Group, and the North American Dealer Coordinator for Fratelli Ruffatti Pipe Organs of Padua, Italy. In October 2025, Mr. McBride was appointed Vice President & Partner of R. A. Daffer Church Organs, Inc., where he specializes in sales from an educational point of view, working specifically with the artistic needs of the clients.
He, his Maltipoo (Alfie) and his partner Alexandra reside in Elkridge, Maryland.
