This year NPM launches the 4th annual ONE NPM appeal – and this year will look different.
Amidst the uncertainty of a pandemic, we were all forced to adapt to an ever-changing world and serve our communities in new and innovative ways.
The livelihood of many NPM members has been at risk during a time when parishes and religious communities are feeling the financial impact of this crisis.
The unfathomable deaths of black lives brought to the forefront the racial injustice and inequity that still exists in our country. As an association, we committed to addressing the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion and chart the future of NPM to ensure we represent all peoples.
Yet despite its challenges, 2020 has been a transformational year for NPM. We engaged with our members in new ways – including a highly successful virtual convention and increased virtual programming – and began implementing our long-awaited NPM 2.0 vision.
We came together as ONE NPM during such a difficult time, but the work is not done.
Many of our colleagues have made the tough decision to drop their memberships this year because of reduced wages or lost jobs. As part of this year’s ONE NPM appeal, we ask you to consider adding a donation of $75 to our Member Support Fund that will in turn help sponsor memberships for our colleagues without the resources right now.
NPM offered nearly $50,000 of membership renewal forgiveness during the months of March to August. Our members were most appreciative, as their relationship with NPM was especially important during this time of isolation and fear.
The need continues, and we are asking for your support. The NPM Member Support Fund will cover a colleague's membership renewal. If you are able to sponsor the membership of another during this difficult time, NPM will supplement your $75 donation to the Member Support Fund by $29 to provide an individual membership to someone who is unable to renew due to COVID-19 related circumstances. We encourage you to show your support today by giving online here.
