July 6, 2021: Convention FAQs

How do we convention attendees receive the reduced parking rate at the Canal Street Marriott?
The reduced overnight parking rate will automatically be applied through the system to the reservations within the group room block. For anyone that made their reservations outside of the block, they will need to inform the Valet attendant upon arrival and the front desk that they are with the NPM group, booked outside of the block and will need the special rate applied to their reservation.

What is the hourly rate for the hotel garage?

    • Valet Parking Only:
    • 0-2 hours:           $10.00 USD Daily (plus tax)
    • 2-6 hours:           $15.00 USD Daily (plus tax)
    • 6-10 hours:         $20.00 USD Daily (plus tax)
    • 10+ hours:          $30.00 USD Daily (plus tax) – normally $45

What are current COVID-19 restrictions in the hotel?
Masking and social distancing answers are our most pressing. Regarding masks, in line with the CDC as well as our city’s requirements, Marriott’s current companywide requirement is unvaccinated guests, attendees and hotel hosts are required to wear a mask, and, for fully vaccinated guests, attendees and hotel hosts, masks are optional/recommended but not required. Social distancing is still encouraged. In regards to events, attendants are still currently required for food/beverage service (no self-serve food service), and plexi-glass is still being used for food service tables. Anything that is not pre-packaged/wrapped, must currently be served by an attendant such as buffets. We are still using modified banquet menus/practices (boxed continentals, no water stations, etc.) and maintaining socially distanced room sets when possible.

Wheelchair and Scooter Rental Information

Need a rental of a scooter or wheelchair? Mr. Wheelchair, a local Louisiana company, rents both scooters and wheelchairs in the New Orleans area.

Shuttle Information - How to Get to the Canal Street Marriott from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport

Airport Shuttle New Orleans is offering a $44 round trip price or a $24 one-way price from the airport to the Marriott.

This is the most economical way to travel to the convention site (Canal Street Marriott), as daily parking at the Marriott costs more than a one-way trip price on the Airport Shuttle New Orleans.
