National Catholic Handbell Festival

Saturday, July 27, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Sunday, July 28, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Monday, July 29, 9:00 am–12:00 noon

Join handbell choirs, choir directors, and individual ringers in a celebration of handbell music and its contribution to Roman Catholic liturgy. This three-day festival is led by Donna Kinsey and Jean McLaughlin. The festival begins on Saturday, July 27, at 9:00 am and leads to a massed handbell choir concert for the Convention on Monday, July 29, 9:00–10:00 pm.

Pre-registration required; no on-site registration. See registration form for fee schedule. Application deadline: April 12, 2013.


Lift Every Voice and Sing:
An African American Festival of Sung Praise

Sunday, July 28, 7:30–9:00 pm

Come to historic Saint Augustine Church to begin the NPM Convention with a festival of vibrant sung praise, led by Monsignor Ray East and featuring a massed choir of singers from African American parishes in the Washington area led by local directors along with guest conductor M. Roger Holland II. Come and lift your voice in praise, celebrating the gifts of African American composers that have been gathered into the recently published Lead Me, Guide Me (Second Edition), a testimony to the faith and worship of African American Catholics.
